Sean serves as a trial attorney in Smith Strong’s family law practice, including divorce, custody, and support matters, criminal defense, and estate litigation practice group.

Sean obtained his undergraduate degree from Longwood University while being a pitcher on the baseball team. He graduated from Liberty University School of Law. While in law school, Sean was voted the top advocate in the Fordham NBA Negotiation Competition where he acted as a player agent to obtain a new contract for his client. He served as a judge for the undergraduate Moot Court Competition. He also volunteered to provide tax assistance to members of the public in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Following law school, Sean clerked with the Henrico County Circuit Court under the Honorable Rondelle Herman and the Honorable Lee A. Harris, Jr. As a law clerk, Sean assisted the Judges by briefing both criminal and civil legal issues, handling divorces, name changes, and guardianship and conservatorship cases. Sean has represented clients across the entire Commonwealth, including in Loudoun, Richmond, Henrico, Lynchburg, Hanover, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and Chesterfield, among others.

Sean grew up in western Hanover County and now resides in Midlothian, Virginia with his wife, Erin, and their two dogs, Steel and River. Outside of work, Sean enjoys hiking with his family, competing in triathlons, and coaching baseball at Ironbridge Baseball Academy. He is an avid golfer and a Pittsburgh sports fan.
