Attorney Laura Lee Miller is a skilled litigator with a decade of experience who maintains an active trial practice in family law (divorce, child custody, and support) and estate litigation. A “double ‘Hoo,” Laura Lee earned both her undergraduate degree in biology and her law degree from the University of Virginia. She has been named to Virginia Business Legal Elite (2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024) and has been voted a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2022, 2023).
Following law school, she worked for a large law firm in Washington, D.C. before moving back home to the Richmond area. In Richmond, she practiced with two prominent civil litigation defense firms before joining Smith Strong. Litigation is her passion, and she has taken numerous cases to verdict in courts throughout Virginia. Before joining Smith Strong, she represented hospitals, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice cases. In that arena, she developed her detail-oriented, efficient, and strategic approach to litigation which she now brings to clients at Smith Strong.
Laura Lee lives in Midlothian, Virginia with her husband and their three children. When she is not in the courtroom, she can usually be found in her garden or hitting the gym or Pilates studio to keep her over 250-week streak on the Peloton app rolling.
Laura Lee is admitted to practice in Virginia and Washington, D.C. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
